From November 7 to 12, the Chinese Embassy in Australia, together with Chinese Consulates-General across the country, hosted the 2025 Chinese Film Week. A selection of acclaimed Chinese films — including Ne Zha 2, East Pole Island, and Lychees of Chang'an — were screened in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, and Darwin.

At the opening ceremony, Minister-Counsellor Gao Wei remarked that cinema is an important medium through which people can gain a deeper understanding of a nation's history and culture. He expressed confidence that this year's Chinese Film Week would further enhance the Australian public's appreciation of Chinese culture, and promote greater mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of China and Australia.

Over the years, the Embassy has continuously organized Chinese Film Week events, which have not only enriched Australia's cultural landscape but also provided a vivid window into China's contemporary social and economic achievements. This year's Film Week featured 42 screenings across seven Australian cities, attracting an audience of more than 3,600 viewers.
