China Online Visa Processing System will be officially launched by the Chinese Embassy in Australia on September 15, 2025.  Applicants for diplomatic, official or courtesy visas could enjoy convenience of filling out the form and uploading application materials online by visiting  https://consular.mfa.gov.cn/VISA.

As from September 15, 2025, the current Chinese Online Visa Application (COVA) system will no longer be used at the Chinese Embassy in Australia. 

As from September 15, 2025, Chinese visa applicants holding ordinary passports of Australia and the third country in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and the Northern Territory (NT) should submit their visa applications at the Sydney Chinese Visa Application Service Center.
