On November 2, Ambassador Liu Jinsong attended the reception for the inaugural China-Australia Dialogue on Steel Decarbonisation Policy, and cordially exchanged views with Secretary Simon Draper of the Department of Industry, Science and Resources of Australia and the participants of the reception.

Mr. Chang Guowu, head of Chinese delegation and Director-General of the Raw Materials Industry Department Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Secretary Draper both noted the strong complementarity between the Chinese and Australian steel industries. They emphasized that to hold the dialogue on cooperation in steel decarbonisation was the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, and that the relevant authorities attached great importance to this initiative, working together in good faith to ensure its effective implementation. The dialogue was friendly, professional and highly constructive. Both sides shared the view that this dialogue was a positive starting point for strengthening regular communication on steel decarbonisation, building broader consensus, and advancing substantive cooperation in future.
