On September 24, the Chinese Embassy in Australia held the reception marking the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the assumption of office for Ambassador Liu Jinsong. More than 400 people attended the reception, including Acting Deputy Secretary of the DFAT Mr Michael Growder, representatives from all walks of life in Australia, the diplomatic corps, and the local Chinese community, Chinese enterprises, and Chinese students.

In the speech, Ambassador Liu highlighted China’s development achievements. He stated that the train of China-Australia relations is running on the track of recovery and development. As Chinese saying goes, many hands make light work. To further uphold, expand, and deepen this relationship requires collective efforts. China and Australia should, in the spirit of treating each other as equals, seeking common ground while reserving differences, and pursuing mutually beneficial cooperation, implement the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, uphold the positioning of the China-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and promote a virtuous cycle in bilateral relations, ensuring steady progress and upward development.
Mr Michael Growder extended congratulations on the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and welcomed Ambassador Liu to the role. Australia believes that working with the Chinese side to continue building the stable and constructive bilateral relationship is in both countries’ interests.

The atmosphere at the event was warm and friendly, with Chinese and Australian artists joining forces to present a series of spectacular cultural performances. The guests spoke highly of China’s development achievements and expressed hope for the sound and steady development of China-Australia relations.
