The Chinese Embassy in Australia and the Australia-China Friendship Society ACT branch jointly hosted the 2025 Panda Competition Awards Ceremony on 5th November. Ambassador Xiao Qian, Minister-Counselor Gao Wei, President of Australia-China Friendship Society ACT branch Carol Keil, the ACT Education Directorate, principals and teachers from primary and secondary schools, award-winning students, and parents, nearly 160 attendees in total were present.

Ambassador Xiao Qian stated that the Panda Competition serves as a vital platform for Sino-Australian cultural exchange. This year's theme, “Chinese Architecture,” attracted nearly 400 participants whose outstanding entries vividly captured the essence of traditional Chinese structures, reflecting Australian youth's passion for exploring Chinese culture. Ambassador Xiao Qian also presented Special Contribution Awards to schools that have long organized and participated in the event. He invited teachers and students to take advantage of China's visa-free policy for Australian tourists to visit China and witness the grandeur of Chinese architecture firsthand.

Carol noted that the Panda Competition has been held for 31 sessions, with two new schools joining this year. She expressed hope that the event will continue to play a role in promoting China-Australia friendship.
