On November 29, Ambassador Xiao Qian was invited to watch the women's basketball game between the UC Capitals and the Perth Lynx at the AIS Arena alongside Bill Shorten,  Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Canberra and former Labor Party leader. 

This match marked the debut of Han Xu, the starting center of China  Women's National  Basketball Team, after joining the Perth Lynx of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). She delivered an outstanding performance.

After the game, Ambassador Xiao Qian visited Han Xu to congratulate her on her victorious debut and encouraged her to continue striving for excellence, contributing to sports exchange and cooperation between China and Australia.
