Panda Competition 2024 Awards Ceremony Successfully Held at the Chinese Embassy in Australia

On 6 November, the award ceremony of the  2024 Panda Competition, co-hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Australia  and ACT Branch of the Australia China Friendship Society , was  successfully held. Ambassador Xiao Qian, Minister Sun Yong of Chinese  Embassy, President of AustraliaChina Friendship SocietyACT Branch Carol  Keil attended the event, and around 120 people, including principals,  teachers, students and parents of many local primary and secondary  schools, participated.

Ambassador  Xiao Qian said that the Panda Competition had been held for 30 years  and was a platform for cultural exchanges between China and Australia.  The theme of this year's competition,‘Chinese and Australian Gold  Rushes’, is of historical and practical significance, demonstrating the  positive contribution of Chinese people to Australia's multicultural  development and national construction. This year marks the 10th  anniversary of President Xi Jinping's state visit to Australia and the  establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China  and Australia, with the two countries deepening their co-operation in  various fields. Young people are the future of China-Australia  friendship, and it is hoped that more envoys of friendship who love  Chinese culture will be nurtured.

Carol  said this year marked the 50th anniversary of the society and it would  continue to play a role in promoting China-Australia friendship.

A total of 50 students were awarded at this year's event.
