The Chinese Embassy in Australia Hosts the 2024 "Mid-Autumn Folk Music Concert"

On the evening of September 17, the Chinese Embassy in Australia, in collaboration with the China Cultural Centre in Sydney, Guizhou Performing Arts Group, and FCCCI , hosted the 2024 "Mid-Autumn Folk Music Concert" in Canberra. Sun Yong, Minister of the Chinese Embassy, and Shane Rattenbury, ACT Attorney General attended the opening reception and delivered speeches.

In his speech, Minister Sun noted that music serves as a bridge that transcends language and is an important avenue for understanding a nation's history and culture. He expressed his belief that this concert would further promote the Australian public's understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture, thereby enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of both countries.

Mr Rattenbury thanked the Mid-Autumn Folk Orchestra for contributing to the development of the local multicultural society. He remarked that this event would further promote the local community's understanding of Chinese culture.

That evening, the Guizhou Folk Orchestra performed 14 classic pieces, including Moonlight Over the Spring River. Over 200 representatives from various sectors of Australian society attended the concert, which was marked by a festive and harmonious atmosphere.
