On November 26, H.E. Ambassador Cheng Jingye arrived at the Sydney Garden Island naval base to greet the crew of PLAN Training Ship Zheng He which arrived in Australia for a friendly visit. Ambassador Cheng also exchanged views with the cadets on board. On November 27, Ambassador Cheng attended the farewell ceremony for Zheng He ship, accompanied by Defence Attaché, Senior Colonel Wang Jingguo.

Zheng He ship set sail from Lushun Port on October 24 and arrived in Sydney at 9:00 on November 23 for a four-day friendly visit to Australia. Accomplishing its visit in Australia, the ship will head to Auckland, New Zealand, and then to Suva, Fiji, before returning home on December 30. The 68-day voyage is expected to cover 16,000 nautical miles. Zheng He ship carries 349 crew on board, including 169 cadets from four PLA naval academies. There are also two foreign cadets on board, respectively from Australia and New Zealand, training with the PLA Navy cadets.
