On December 11, Chinese Ambassador to Australia Xiao Qian attended the 2024 Annual General Meeting of CCCA (China Chamber of Commerce in Australia) and delivered a keynote speech.
In his speech, Ambassador Xiao highlighted that, under the strategic leadership of leaders from both countries, China-Australia bilateral relations have achieved a comprehensive turnaround, with deepened mutual trust and enhanced collaboration emerging as dominant trends. He emphasized that China's ongoing reforms and its comprehensive pursuit of Chinese modernization will unlock greater opportunities for bilateral economic and trade cooperation, benefiting the peoples of both countries.
Chris Tinning, First Assistant Secretary of Foreign Investment Division of Commonwealth Treasury; David Higgins, Head of International Climate and Energy Division of DCCEEW; and Damian White, General Manager of Government and Policy of Austrade, attended the meeting and delivered remarks.Adam Coin, Acting Assistant Secretary of East Asia Division of DFAT, was also present. The Australian representatives commended the remarkable achievements in China-Australia economic and trade cooperation, welcomed further investments and initiatives by Chinese enterprises in Australia, and expressed their desire to deepen pragmatic cooperation in fields such as climate change and green economy.
The event gathered prominent attendees, including Chinese Consuls General in Australia, members of National Committee of CCCA, and representatives from CCCA member enterprises,with a total of 180 participants.
