On 26th September, the Chinese Embassy in Australia held a reception to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. More than 200 people attended the reception, including Chinese Ambassador Xiao Qian, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia Ms Elly Lawson, the diplomatic corps, representatives of the Chinese community and people from all walks of life in Australia.
Ambassador Xiao Qian delivered a speech, introduced development achievements of China in the past 75 years, and the outcomes of Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. Xiao said that, 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of President Xi Jinping's state visit to Australia and the establishment of the China-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Our two sides should make joint efforts to firmly implement the strategic consensuses reached by our leaders, build a more mature, stable, and fruitful Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and make more contribution to regional peace and prosperity.
On behalf of the Australian government, Deputy Secretary Lawson warmly congratulated the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, spoke highly of the development of Australia-China relations, and expressed Australia’s willingness to make joint efforts with China to promote the development of the Australia-China relationship.
The reception was held in a friendly, warm atmosphere. People from all walks of life in Australia and China enjoyed the traditional Chinese culture and had cordial conversation.
